One of the perks of my current job at Broadcast House is getting to take pictures at Nebraska Cornhusker sporting events. This is my fifth year doing this, and as such, I feel like I’ve gotten better with the experience.

Last night was a super-fun night at Memorial Stadium. The team is obviously facing a lot of adversity with the firing of a head coach in-season, but the fans still turn out and pack the place, creating a first-class college football experience. It always helps when the Huskers win, which they did, defeating Indiana 35-21.

What does all of this mean? Photography is a big part of what I do, and although I don’t offer portrait photography as a freelancer anymore, photography is used in a lot of graphic design. And there’s a lot more to photography than pointing a camera and clicking the shutter button. Having a good eye for great shots makes for a better product.
